This thread is for posting art for our website/community

Submissions we are looking for (but not restricted to):

> website themes

Multiple community members have already gotten their banners / website themes added to the site - and pakich had the good idea of us having a thread to centralize submissions and discussions around this topic.

<even if you think your thing is stupid, who cares, submit it! It is likely we will approve it!

Q: how do i make a theme?
A: look at the themes in our page headers (open devtools and search our HTML for "window.__themes") - its a good idea to use one of those as a base - our site differs a lot from vanilla vichan and so do our themes - the vichan-classic.css theme is a good place to start - its the original vichan look ported over to our sites specific layout... - Interaction of Color by Josef Albers
1963 masterwork in art education and color theory that demonstrates how colors change and influence one another based on their neighboring context.

- Design and Form: The Basic Course at the Bauhaus by Johannes Itten
1963/1975 book by Bauhaus master Johannes Itten that documents the foundational preliminary course (Vorkurs) he created at the Weimar Bauhaus in 1919.

- The Elements of Graphic Design: Space, Unity, Page Architecture, and Type by Alex W. White
Explores visual communication through the strategic use of space rather than just decoration.

- Grid Systems in Graphic Design by Josef Müller-Brockmann
1981 visual communication manual that teaches designers how to organize information logically and consistently using structured grid frameworks.

- Basic Principles of Design by Manfred Maier
Documents the famous foundation program at the School of Design Basel, Switzerland, translating the school's core design pedagogy into an extensive four-volume set (i included volume 1 in this post)

this image has been floating around for a long ass time but every time i see it it reminds me of this one time when i was a little kid, probably in kindergarden or first grade, i went to the mall with my grandma around Christmas time to pick out some gifts for my parents with her. really that just meant she could buy some gifts for them and put "FROM:ANON" on them - just a cutesy thing to do with a kid.

anyways, while we were shopping i noticed a display with all these pins on them, similar to the one in picrel. but sort of christmas themed and with some fake jewels in them. for whatever reason i thought one in particular would be perfect for my grandma. its like a bejeweled christmas tree design.

so i grabbed her and told her i wanted to get her a present too, she told me i didnt have to but i insisted. and when i showed her what i wanted to get her; this little christmas themed probably $10 pin. she got super happy and thanked me and told me she would cherish it forever.

so, she "let me buy" that pin for her. and to this day decades later she still has it on her night stand and wears it every christmas. that memory of her in the mall surprised at what i picked out for her comes to mind every time i see this image.

This picture was taken in a Minecraft server I used to frequent a few months back

A person on the server called Daisy showed us a few of her favorite spots, which included this weird ice thingy

Really nice place, and really nice atmosphere as well. Its difficult to capture pictures like these, because rain usually gets skipped by the players whenever possible

I haven't played in a long while, and from my understanding, the town where Daisy and I used to live at became the most populated one on the server, so thats cool

I'm pretty sure I've shared this picture in other imageboards, so maybe someone here has seen it before. Let me kno if thats the case!

I've given my mom a few presents throughout the years, but being totally honest, she usually looses them, or lets them to decay

I don't blame her though; my family has moved almost a dozen times in less than 10 years, so I can definitely understand why presents and things of that nature would get damaged or lost. I tend to take very good care of the presents given to me by family and friends, but it seems to me that such a trait doesn't run deep within my peers

I'll post a few memories and general thoughts to HOPEFULLY get the ball rolling again

There's something truly beautiful about the art that's made specifically to make you feel like a toddler being entertained by a keychain

I don't mean ADDICTIVE works of art, like movies or videogames, but rather, small snippets of abstract thinking turned into, for example, a gif (Like the one attached)

There's no purpose for something of this nature to exist, but it does, and thats cool as fuk
